Our History
Chevrolet of Troy, located at 1375 S. Market St. in Troy, Ohio, has operated at its current location since 1964. Most recently, in 2022, the dealership was purchased by dealer principal Jacob Shepherd, transitioning from Joe Johnson Chevrolet to its current name.
A concise look at the dealership's milestones includes:
- 1939: Chevrolet begin selling and servicing automobiles in Troy, Ohio
- 1964: The dealership established its roots at the current South Market Street location in Troy, Ohio.
- 1990: Joe Johnson purchased the established Chevrolet dealership from previous long time owner Bob Ross.
- 2022 (March): Jacob Shepherd acquired the business, officially renaming it Chevrolet of Troy. Jacob has maintained the dealership's long-standing customer service traditions, keeping experienced staff members, some of whom have been with the location for up to 40 years.
- Community Focus: Under new ownership, the dealership launched various community-centric initiatives, raising over $250,000 for local Miami County non-profits and charities. Including multiple car giveaways.
- Current offerings: Today we’ve sold automobiles to 49 out of the 50 states. We specialize in brand new Corvettes, recognized as one of the country’s top Corvette dealerships and offer a wide variety of lifted, customized trucks.
